Originally designed for travel, the Céline Boston bag is one of the house's great classics. Structured, roomy and perfectly understated, it follows you from one weekend to the next and has stood the test of time without ageing a day.
An icon born in Paris.
It all began in 1945, when Céline Vipiana opened a made-to-measure children's shoe workshop in Paris. The house later turned to leather goods and womenswear.
In 1973, Céline created its emblematic pattern: interlocking Cs inspired by the chains surrounding the Arc de Triomphe. Printed on coated canvas, it gave birth to the famous Macadam canvas.
The Boston applies this pattern to the shape of the travel bag: a rounded silhouette, two leather handles, corner reinforcements and a gold-tone padlock. It established itself in the 1980s and 90s as one of the house's great classics.
It comes in several sizes. The small sizes, easy to carry by hand, are perfect for everyday city life. The larger models stay true to its original purpose: travel and weekend getaways.
Now discontinued, the Macadam line can only be found vintage. Its canvas and leather develop a patina over time, and each Boston grows more charming with the years.
