The Céline Triomphe, a logo turned bag
Two interlocking Cs, drawn from the chains around the Arc de Triomphe: since the 1970s, the Triomphe has been the emblem of Céline.

A logo born on Place de l’Étoile
In the early 1970s, when his car broke down on Place de l’Étoile, Richard Vipiana, husband of founder Céline Vipiana, noticed the chains surrounding the Arc de Triomphe. He turned them into two interlocking Cs, which became the brand’s logo.
The motif first adorned clasps, then a coated canvas that accompanied Céline throughout the 1970s and 1980s, alongside the Macadam canvas.
In 2018, Hedi Slimane made it the brand’s signature again: the Triomphe canvas returned, and the gold-tone clasp took pride of place at the centre of the flaps.
Claude or Teen flap bags, totes, Boston, bucket bags or wallets: the Triomphe motif appears on canvas, on leather and even on the gold-tone clasp, often trimmed with tan calfskin.
